Ben Garrison's nearly 30 years of experience includes publication and newspaper design, cartoons, illustrations, informational graphics and photography. Also a fine artist, Ben now lives with his wife Tina (an animator and cartoonist) in 'Big Sky Country' — the beautiful state of Montana.
My clients have included The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, The Hearst Corp., Root Learning, King County, The City of Seattle, GlobeThink.com, Clarity Advantage, Frog Kick, Boeing, Microsoft, Lightspeed Design, High Country News, KOHR Productions, Wildermuth Environmental, Inc., Schwarz & Associates, Switchyard Media and Illusion Winery.
I was a freelance advertising artist for The Seattle Post-Intelligencer until it closed in 2008.

• 1997 to present: Self-employed.
• 1984 — 1997: Chief artist at The Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
• 1982 — 1984: Staff artist at The San Antonio Express-News.
• 1979 — 1982: Staff artist and Editorial Cartoonist at The San Angelo Standard-Times.
Degree: BA, Angelo State University, San Angelo, Texas, 1979. Magna Cum Laude.
Awards: Hearst Corporation's prestigious "Eagle Award," numerous first place awards from the Society of Professional Journalists; three awards of excellence for informational graphics and design from The Society of Newspaper Design; first place $5,000 cash award from The Washington State Lottery. (They also produced my winning lottery scratch ticket design). I also received a "Best Special Effort Award" from The Seattle Post-Intelligencer in 1985.
Software used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Captivate, Photoshop, InDesign, DreamWeaver, Power Point, Flash Catalyst and Flash — all on Mac computers.
